Improves the decantability of biological sludge
The Acideka BIODEC system substantially improves the characteristics of biological sludge at wastewater treatment plants with biological treatment.
It chemically modifies the surface properties of the particles.
This produces:
Increased density and size of said particles.
A modification of the electrochemical characteristics of the surface.
The prevention of undesirable absorption and aggregation phenomena to prevent particle flotation.
Following a careful study and a simulation of the process conditions, the type of treatment is designed along with dosage points, circulation conditions, etc. Thus, the BIODEC system optimizes the settling potential of the sludge to increase the performance of the process and the quality of the final effluent.
These chemical alterations in the surface properties of the particles produce:
Wastewater treatment plants equipped with biological treatments offer a critical settling phase for the sludge generated. This makes for better system performance and operation.
The problems are associated with:
The presence of filamentous bacteria in the aeration basin.
The absorption of gas bubbles into the sludge particles in the secondary decanters.
Biochemical processes that condition the physical surface properties of the sludge particles. And this hinders gravity settling.
The properties of the Acideka BIODEC system increase the efficiency of the secondary sludge settling process for improved system performance and operation.
